8. What happens when a league round finishes?

Create the next round, import teams with promotion and relegation, and how ties in the standings are broken.

A round finishes at the end of its Round end date. You then create the next round and import the teams from the finished round. Promotion and relegation are applied automatically when you import.

Create the next round

  1. Go to Play → Leagues and open the league's latest round.

  2. Click the + icon (Create new round). It appears once the latest round has started.

  3. Enter the four dates.

  4. Click Create.

The new round copies the previous round's settings. You can change them before you lock any division.

Import the teams

  1. Open the new round's Standings tab.

  2. Click Import from Previous Round.

  3. In Select Previous Round, choose the finished round.

  4. Click Import Teams.

Teams marked Won't continue next round are left out.

Promotion and relegation

  • The number of teams moving up and down comes from Promotion & Relegation Places.

  • The top division promotes nobody and the bottom division relegates nobody.

  • You can still drag teams between divisions before you lock them.

If teams are level on points

Ties are broken in this order:

  1. Points.

  2. Sets won.

  3. Games won.

  4. Head-to-head points.

Payment for the new round

All imported players start as unpaid for the new round. Their payment status shows on the Teams and Standings tabs.

Between rounds you can

  • Add or remove divisions.

  • Add teams from the waiting queue.

  • Remove a team.

  • Swap a player in a team.
