Does an unfinished match affect a player's level?

How the padel level algorithm treats matches that ended early, depending on the score reported.

Written by Nettla

Yes, if at least one set was completed and one team was ahead. The leading team is treated as the winner, but levels move only half as much as for a finished match. If no set was completed, or the score was level, nobody's level changes.

How it works

  • At least one completed set and one team leading: that team counts as the winner, with half the usual effect on levels.

  • No completed set: levels don't change. Only the Reliability % is updated.

  • Score tied: levels don't change. Only the Reliability % is updated.

Good to know

  • This applies to padel only. Tennis levels never change from match results.

  • Players should report the score as it stood when they stopped.

  • League rounds can also award standings points for unfinished sets. That is separate from levels.
