In Nettla, both Public Matches and Private Matches (Pay Your Part) can have automatic cancellation rules to help you optimize court usage and ensure matches fill up for a better player experience.
Club-Controlled Settings
To set up automatic cancellation rules for matches:
Go to Settings → Rules & Limits
Scroll to the bottom of the page
Define cancellation times based on how many players have joined:
No players joined → auto-cancel [X] hours before match start
Only 1 player joined → auto-cancel [X] hours before
Only 2 players joined → auto-cancel [X] hours before
Only 3 players joined → auto-cancel [X] hours before
These settings determine when a match is automatically cancelled due to low participation.
Last-Minute Player Cancellations
To avoid full matches being cancelled due to last-minute dropouts:
The “Only 3 players joined” rule also determines how late a player can cancel
If a match is full, and a player tries to cancel after that threshold, they will be prompted to contact the club directly
This gives you the ability to:
Manually remove and refund the player (if you choose)
Or keep the player in the match to prevent cancellation
This system gives your club both automation and flexibility — helping protect player experience while keeping your schedule efficient.
