Automatic Cancellation Rules for Matches

In Nettla, both Public Matches and Private Matches (Pay Your Part) can have automatic cancellation rules to help you optimize court usage and ensure matches fill up for a better player experience.

Club-Controlled Settings

To set up automatic cancellation rules for matches:

  1. Go to Settings → Rules & Limits

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page

  3. Define cancellation times based on how many players have joined:

  • No players joined → auto-cancel [X] hours before match start

  • Only 1 player joined → auto-cancel [X] hours before

  • Only 2 players joined → auto-cancel [X] hours before

  • Only 3 players joined → auto-cancel [X] hours before

These settings determine when a match is automatically cancelled due to low participation.

Last-Minute Player Cancellations

To avoid full matches being cancelled due to last-minute dropouts:

  • The “Only 3 players joined” rule also determines how late a player can cancel

  • If a match is full, and a player tries to cancel after that threshold, they will be prompted to contact the club directly

  • This gives you the ability to:

    • Manually remove and refund the player (if you choose)

    • Or keep the player in the match to prevent cancellation

This system gives your club both automation and flexibility — helping protect player experience while keeping your schedule efficient.
