Tax rate % in Nettla -> Stripe

How to set your overall and per-article tax rate in Nettla and how this transfers to your Stripe payment metadata.

Written by Nettla

Even though Nettla does not act as your official tool for accounting and tax purposes, Nettla makes it simple to define the overall tax rate % for your business, as well as a potential override tax rate % for certain articles that may differ from the standard rate.

This tax rate % does not have to be the official number you end up using for accounting purposes, but it transfers into your Stripe export for each payment as metadata, which you can read more about in the next article.

Overall tax rate %

Each operator that uses Nettla is able to define, in their company-admin-settings, what overall tax rate % applies, which acts as the standard tax rate % across all articles unless an override tax rate % is set on an individual article.

Override tax rate % for some articles

Each operator that uses Nettla is able to define, in the club-admin-settings, if certain articles should transfer another tax rate % than the standard one as metadata to Stripe. This allows you to differentiate the tax rate % metadata sent to Stripe per article if needed.

Article types where override tax rate % is possible

The following article types in Nettla allow you to override the tax rate % metadata sent to Stripe:

  • Activity Type

  • Membership Type

  • Club Wallet

  • Specific Coach (Private Coaching)

  • Inventory items (additional items)

  • When creating a recurring booking

  • When creating a bespoke booking
