2. Setting up the first round

The first league round is often a little different than the rest, since many players will sign up and pay to join. You can set a maximum number of teams to control how long the sign up button is active and when it turns into a waitlist option.

Before you setup the first round, make sure:

  • You know the start and end date of the round

  • You know the start and end date of when players can sign up to join

  • You know which schedule setting you want to use:

    • you (the club) schedules all the matches before round starts

    • players schedule their own matches

The settings below may be adjusted between rounds, but not during.

Inside of your new league, click Create round:

  1. Dates: You may change those up until the round start date is reached, but not after that.

  2. Prices: The price is set 'per player' for the round, but one player may pay for both team members. You can set 0 if there is no cost to join.

  3. Team: Decide the size of the league. You may change this between rounds in the future.

  4. Scoring: Decide if standings are affected by set or match wins, and how many points per match outcome. You can also reward points for unfinished sets or matches.

  5. Duration: The option you select here will determine what duration players can book their league match in. Example: If 90 min, players can only book 90 min league matches.

  6. Sets: Decide your set settings

  7. Scheduling and payments: This is an important setting where you decide how you want to run your league

Club pre-schedules all the matches

  • Players pay the round-price only, for example £100 per player

  • All the round's matches are included in that price

  • The club sets the schedule of which match is played when

  • Requires a bit more admin but gives control of what is scheduled

  • Players can still 'move their match' to extra slots that you define

Players schedule matches themselves

  • Players pay a small, or no round-price to join the league

  • The club defines what days/times/court can be booked for league matches

  • Players communicate in-app chat to determine match day/time

  • Players schedule their league matches inside the app league module

  • Less admin but harder to control all matches are scheduled

  • Players can 'move their match' to extra slots you have defined

8. Auto-cancel empty league matches: If no match (players) have grabbed a league slot, that slot will be automatically removed from your schedule and be available for general bookings. You decide how many days before that happens.
