How do I create an automation?

Build an automated workflow from a template or from scratch, then activate it.

Written by Nettla

Go to Players → Automations, click Create automation, pick a template or Start from scratch, set the trigger and steps, then click Save and Activate.

This is a feature that Nettla switches on for your club. If you don't see Automations under Players in the sidebar, contact Nettla.

Create an automation

  1. Go to Players → Automations.

  2. Click Create automation.

  3. Choose a template, or Start from scratch.

  4. Enter an Automation name.

  5. Click Create automation.

  6. Under When a player…, choose the trigger and its settings.

  7. Set How often can a player get this?.

  8. Click Add step to add each step: Delay, Condition, Send message, Add to cohort, Notify staff or End.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Click Activate when you're ready for it to run.

Send an email from an automation

Emails use one of your announcements as their content. Create the announcement first, then choose it under Email content (announcement). Use Send a test to send it to your own email first.

Pause, edit or stop an automation

  1. Go to Players → Automations.

  2. Click ⋮ on the automation.

  3. Choose Edit, Pause, Resume, Duplicate or Archive.

Good to know

  • A new automation stays as a Draft until you activate it.

  • You can only activate an automation once every step is complete.

  • Opted-out players, quiet hours (22:00–08:00) and push limits apply automatically. See "How do automations work?".
