Which payment methods can players use?

Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and club wallets, plus the options admins can use when they add a booking.

Written by Nettla

Players can pay with a debit or credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a club wallet (or company wallet) if they have one. They can also combine a wallet with a card in most cases.

Online payment methods for players

  • Debit or credit card.

  • Apple Pay.

  • Google Pay.

  • Club wallet or company wallet, if your club sells or gives wallets and the player has one with a balance. In the admin this shows as Wallet.

Paying with a wallet and a card together

If the wallet balance doesn't cover the whole price, the player can pay the rest by card.

The exception is a lead booker who chooses pay your part for a court booking, a lead booker of a league match, and league round entries. Then the wallet must cover the whole reserved amount, or it can't be used.

Pay by bank

When a player pays an unpaid bespoke booking or recurring booking on the web, they can also choose to pay by bank (open banking). They can do this without logging in. Pay by bank isn't offered for other purchases.

Options only admins can choose

When you create a booking or add a player in the admin, you choose how each player pays:

  • Unpaid – the player pays later in the app or on the web.

  • Marked as paid – the player paid you outside Nettla, for example at the desk.

  • Free of charge – nothing to pay.

No money goes through Nettla or Stripe for Marked as paid or Free of charge.

Good to know

  • Nettla doesn't take cash, invoices or other payment methods through the app. Record those as Marked as paid.

  • A wallet can only be used if its rules allow it (for example dates, times, courts and booking types). See "Why can't a player use their club wallet?".
