Ongoing vs. Temporary Memberships

When creating a membership in Nettla, you’ll see two options:

  • Ongoing Membership

  • Temporary Membership

Ongoing memberships

Ongoing memberships are designed for long-term use and often include automatic renewals at a regular interval (e.g. monthly or yearly).

Common examples include:

  • Monthly subscriptions (like Spotify or Netflix)

  • Yearly commitment memberships

These memberships do not have a fixed end date. Instead, the membership starts from the date of purchase and continues according to the renewal settings until cancelled or expired.

Temporary memberships

Temporary memberships have a fixed start and end date. They are ideal for offering seasonal or time-limited access, such as:

  • Spring Membership

  • Summer Member Pass

  • “Play All You Want” Winter Membership

The player pays a one-time fee and remains a member until the specified end date is reached.

Tip: You can offer both ongoing and temporary memberships in Nettla at the same time, allowing you to tailor different membership options for different types of players.
