Match Automatic Cancellation Rules

To help your club optimize court utilization and occupancy, Nettla offers smart automatic cancellation rules for matches. These rules ensure that underfilled matches are cancelled in time—freeing up the court and refunding the players.

How to Set It Up

  1. Go to Settings → Rules and Limits

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page

  3. Locate the section for Automatic Cancellation Rules

Here, you can define how many hours before a match should automatically cancel if it doesn’t fill up. You can set different cancellation times based on:

  • Only 1 player joined

  • Only 2 players joined

  • Only 3 players joined

If the match isn’t full by the defined time, it will be automatically cancelled and players will be refunded.

Important notes

  • These rules apply only to matches that use the “Pay Your Part” payment setting

  • Private matches (paid in full by one player) are not affected by automatic cancellation

  • No-shows and last-minute leavers are handled separately by the club

What Does “Only 3 Players Joined” Also Control?

The “Only 3 Players Joined” rule also affects how late a player can leave a full match.

If a match is full and the “3-player” time threshold has passed:

  • A player can no longer cancel directly via the app

  • They must contact the club to cancel their spot

  • This prevents last-minute cancellations (e.g. 10 minutes before start), which could ruin the session

This system gives your club full control over how late matches can stay open for sign-ups or be cancelled, while also helping maintain a great experience for players.
