Why does Sales activity show a sale on a different day from Stripe?

Nettla shows a sale on the day it was bought. Stripe's balance and payout reports count it when the money is charged, which is often later.

Written by Nettla

Nettla's Sales activity shows a sale on the day the player bought it. Stripe's balance, payout and revenue reports count it on the day the money is charged, which for bookings is usually after the session is played. (Stripe's payments list shows when the payment was started, with its current status.) So the same sale can be on different days.

When Stripe charges a booking

  • If the session ends within 6 days of the purchase: about 4 hours after the session ends.

  • If the session is further away: 6 days after the purchase.

Memberships, club wallet purchases, bespoke bookings and recurring bookings are charged straight away, so they're usually on the same day in both.

Example

A player books on 1 June for a session on 3 June.

  • Nettla shows the sale on 1 June.

  • Stripe charges it on 3 June, about 4 hours after the session ends.

If the session were on 20 June, Stripe would charge it on 7 June.

Refunds

  • In Nettla, a refund or cancellation updates the original purchase day automatically.

  • In Stripe, a refund appears on the day it's made.

Which to use

  • Use Sales activity to follow what was sold and when.

  • Use Stripe to follow when money was received and paid out to your bank.
