With pay your part, Nettla reserves enough on the lead booker's card to cover the whole court, then charges the final amount after the session. Players who join pay their own share, and the lead booker's amount is reduced once, about 4 hours after the session ends.
Which bookings use pay your part
Court bookings where the lead booker chooses pay your part.
League matches (if your club uses Leagues).
This doesn't apply to public matches or private matches. In a match, every player, including the player who created it, pays only their own share. Nobody is charged for empty or unpaid places. Instead, a match that doesn't fill up is cancelled by your automatic cancellation rules. See "How do payments work in public and private matches?".
What gets reserved
The lead booker's reserved amount is:
their own share, at their own price (including any cohort or member price and discount code),
plus the other places on the court at your standard price-list price (one place for a two-player booking, three for a four-player booking),
plus any additional items,
plus Nettla's booking fee, if your club has one,
minus any club wallet balance used.
Example: a four-player court. The lead booker is a member and their share is £9. The standard share is £12. Nettla reserves £9 + 3 × £12 = £45.
Your club may use another currency. The calculation is the same.
When it's charged
Card rules only allow a reservation to be held for 7 days, so Nettla uses 6 days.
Session ends within 6 days of the purchase: charged once, about 4 hours after the session ends, at the final amount.
Session ends more than 6 days after the purchase: charged in full 6 days after the purchase. About 4 hours after the session ends, the difference is refunded to the lead booker.
Charges and refunds run on a schedule, so they can land up to about 1–2 hours after these times.
How the final amount is worked out
Each player who joined and paid their own share reduces what the lead booker pays.
Players an admin added as Unpaid who still haven't paid by then are charged to the lead booker, and their unpaid payments are cancelled. This only happens on court bookings and league matches, never on public or private matches.
If nobody joins, the lead booker pays the whole reserved amount.
The amount is adjusted once, about 4 hours after the session ends. It doesn't go down each time a player joins. The 4 hours give players time to add anyone who joined at the club on the day.
Your income is covered
The reservation secures the full court price from the moment of booking. You don't need to chase players or raise invoices for no-shows.
Good to know
Each player's 6 days run from their own purchase, so players on the same booking can see different charge dates.
If a reserved payment is cancelled with a full refund, nothing is charged and there's no Stripe fee. A partial refund on a reserved payment charges the part your club keeps.
If the lead booker pays with a club wallet, the wallet must cover the whole reserved amount. Unused shares go back to the wallet after the session.
If a payment is still Reserved more than 6 days after purchase, contact Nettla.
