What is a cohort?

A cohort is a group of players you give their own prices, booking rules or benefits. Players never see cohorts.

Written by Nettla

A cohort is a group of players that you give different prices, rules or benefits to. Cohorts are not visible to players. They are how you tell Nettla who should get what.

What a cohort can contain

  • Membership types: everyone with that membership is in the cohort while it's active.

  • Company-wide membership types: if your club is part of a multi-club company.

  • Individual players: added by hand, by import or by a Smart Form.

  • Sub-cohorts: other cohorts inside this one.

  • Dynamic rules: players are added automatically based on gender, age or level.

For example: "Members" could contain your Silver and Gold memberships plus two coaches added by hand.

What you can use cohorts for

  • Cheaper prices in your price lists.

  • A longer advance booking window.

  • Different cancellation rules.

  • Courts or times only some players can book.

  • Activity prices and early registration.

  • Wallet prices.

  • Booking limits and member benefits.

  • Targeting announcements.

  • A full court discount.

Wherever you see the word cohort in the admin, you can set something different for that group.

Good to know

  • Cohorts are under Players → Cohorts.

  • A cohort can have start and end dates, so it only applies for a set period.

  • If a player is in several cohorts, they get the lowest price they qualify for.

  • See "How do I create a cohort?" and "How do I add or remove players from a cohort?".
